May '17 Update

May flew by. It was a whirlwind of travel, furniture shopping, illness, and work; lots and lots of work. Even as I write this, I am having trouble remembering details about May because so much happened so quickly!

Saturdaze: February '17 Update

Despite February being the shortest month, it actually moved slowly. We were just incredibly busy. Every day felt like there was something new to do. Of course the highlight of the month was our trip down to Texas.

In February, I…
Watched: Some random season of Friends and finished Friday Night Lights.

Wore: Shorts and sundresses. And not just in Texas! It's been 60s and 70s in Kansas City!

Heard: Matt and Doree's Egg-celent Adventure.

Read: I finally, finally finished rereading the Harry Potter series! I followed that up with Lauren Grahams's Talking As Fast As I Can and started What Remains by Carole Radziwill.

Traveled: Alamo, TX. Read and see more about that here.

Saw: Hidden Figures (Amazing!) and Fifty Shades Darker. We also saw Jeff Dunham live at the Spring Center with some friends.

Saturdaze: August Update

The best part about August just being home in Kansas City. July was filled with travel, including all of Steve's work trips. But in August, he was home for two full weeks, and we definitely made the most of it! I can't remember the last time we were this busy with social engagements. It just felt like everyday there was something knew to go to; Concert, 5K, yoga, Wine Opener, and more! Needless to say, August was a lot of fun! In August, I…

Watched: Continuing Breaking Bad (almost done!) and watched Stranger Things. So amazing!!!

Wore: Soaking up every opportunity to wear shorts and sundresses before fall begins!

Heard: I've been listening to this song on repeat over and over and over.

Read: What Alice Forgot and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Traveled: Drove up to Iowa to visit my in-laws. Weekends in small towns are always so nice!

Saw: Nerve and War Dogs. We also went to a concert with Steve's coworkers. We saw Tesla, REO Speedwagon, and Def Leppard!

News: I completed my CorePower Teacher Training classes! So happy and proud to have spent my summer working towards this goal!

September is expected to be an exciting month. We have a trip to Boulder planned, we close on our house, and my birthday! :)

Friday Finds: Do You Hike?

Happy Friday everyone! You may remember from my Summer Bucket List, one item was "hiking in Alaska". I've mentioned it before, but Steve and I are going to Alaska to visit some friends next week! We are so excited and have some big activities planned during the trip, including a hike. Steve decided this was a good excuse for me to finally buy a pair of hiking boots. Once I got them, I was informed by Steve that I had to break-in my hiking shoes. To accomplish this, we're going hiking this weekend.

My husband grew up hiking and camping with his family. My family did not. But because it is so important to him, we have gone on hikes together in the past. I'll admit, I don't hate it! Although, according to Steve, now that I own the boots, I am now an official hiker! :0

Below are some of my favorite finds this week!

Summer music hits, all in one place.

The Alphabet according to brands.

#BringBackNashville worked!

Wherever these pools are, I want to move there.

My new favorite Youtube Channel.

This app is funny and dangerous at the same time!

What did your families do? Did you grow up visiting the great outdoors like my husband or stay inside like me? I'd love to know!
